Summary: 
The Senior Accountant will leverage extensive accounting expertise to manage the corporate accounting department and ensure the timely preparation of financial reports. This role includes overseeing day-to-day accounting operations for assigned companies, supervising staff, and implementing training programs to enhance departmental performance.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelor's in Accounting required.
  • CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
  • Insurance and/or Third Party Administrator Automotive experience required.
  • Five or more years of accounting experience.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Able to work independently and solve problems related to data discrepancies.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong follow-up with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Possess good verbal and written communication.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations. of as companies assigned
  • Financial reporting for all companies assigned – remove – duplicated below
  • Oversee and assist with month-end closing processes including but not limited to commissions, carrier reporting, and other miscellaneous reporting.
  • Prepare, review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations and bank/credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements. for several small entities.
  • Complete and monitor daily cash reports and discuss exceptions in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Controller with the month-end accounting close. Remove – duplicated above
  • Review inter-company transactions and manage reconciliations between separate companies.
  • Support financial audits and assist with conducting other audits.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
