Summary:
The Senior Accountant will leverage extensive accounting expertise to manage the corporate accounting department and ensure the timely preparation of financial reports. This role includes overseeing day-to-day accounting operations for assigned companies, supervising staff, and implementing training programs to enhance departmental performance.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Bachelor's in Accounting required.
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred.
- Insurance and/or Third Party Administrator Automotive experience required.
- Five or more years of accounting experience.
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to produce timely deliverables and manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Able to work independently and solve problems related to data discrepancies.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong follow-up with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Possess good verbal and written communication.
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations. of as companies assigned
- Financial reporting for all companies assigned – remove – duplicated below
- Oversee and assist with month-end closing processes including but not limited to commissions, carrier reporting, and other miscellaneous reporting.
- Prepare, review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations and bank/credit card reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of timely and accurate GAAP-compliant financial statements. for several small entities.
- Complete and monitor daily cash reports and discuss exceptions in a timely manner.
- Assist the Controller with the month-end accounting close. Remove – duplicated above
- Review inter-company transactions and manage reconciliations between separate companies.
- Support financial audits and assist with conducting other audits.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
